At least two times a year, I get on the road and have to go back to my hometown for a visit. Having grown up in the humid, hot Midwest was not an issue until I moved to a very dry but very sunny Colorado. That has brought to me the desire to not travel back during the Summer months unless my family needs me.
I really don't mind flying, that is until Homeland Security got involved. Now most trips on a plane end up causing stressful moments as I pack and certainly at the airport where I am hung up in the scanning process because someone in front of me gets riled up and more security has to be called.
So I travel by car. It is for me, a lot less expensive than flying but takes obviously more time. Since I have my own business which can go on the road with me, it works. Taking my time gives me the opportunity to enjoy the sites of the road. Each trip is planned with seeing something different along the way - I choose one of my interests and see what I can see concerning it.
In the beginning, I was nervous about the whole issue of traveling alone. Now I simply adore it as the only person I have to please is myself. Security is no longer an issue. Those thoughts I will share with you at a later date.
Come along with me as I see the world...from two lanes.
